Purple Pain

It has to hurt for Vikings management to see Randy Moss signing a three year contract for a mere $27 million ($15 million guaranteed). It has to hurt worse knowing they just signed significantly less talented Bernard Berrian to a six year deal for $42 million with even more guaranteed cash.

This isn't exactly like losing Johan Santana because you couldn't afford $20+ million per year.

Letting Johan go was a good move. He was starting to lose his stuff last year, and from what I hear he's not doing all that well in camp this year. I bet he doesn't win more than 15 this year.

The Berrian signing makes OPG smile. To think the Vikes are going to have all that cap money locked up in a second-tier receiver who has no QB to throw to him puts a spring in my step as well.

At least we have a quarterback. Well, no we don't. But neither do you! Favre is done!
